A smooth rim of metal wraps the diamond instead of prongs. Bezels protect the stone, won't catch on sweaters, and have a clean modern look.
The bezel setting
What makes a bezel
- What it is
- A collar of metal around the edge of the center stone
- Why people choose it
- The most secure setting there is, and the best choice for an active life
- Worth knowing
- A bezel covers a little of the stone's outline and lets in a little less light
- Shapes that suit it
- Emerald, round, oval, and heart

See them side by side
Photos can't show how a diamond moves in the light. Our GIA Graduate Gemologist will set out stones in your size and budget so you can compare them under the loupe, and our master jeweler makes your ring in our Clearwater workshop.
Does a bezel make the diamond look smaller?
Slightly, because the rim covers the stone's outer edge, but the bright metal frames it from above. Yellow gold can make a slightly warm diamond look whiter, while platinum keeps a colorless stone at its brightest.
Do you have natural and lab-grown diamonds?
Both. We'll quote them side by side in the same shape and size so you can compare.
Can I see the ring before it's made?
Yes. You'll approve a CAD rendering or a wax model before anything is cast.
