Wedding band care

Wedding band refinishing

Years of wear leave scratches, dull white gold, and brushed finishes worn smooth. We polish bands back to a mirror shine, replate white gold, and restore satin and hammered finishes at our bench.

  • Scratches and dents

Good to know

When to refinish

White gold looks yellow
The rhodium plating wears off over time. Replating brings back the bright white
Brushed finish looks shiny
Daily wear polishes it smooth. We can put the texture back
Deep scratches
Polishing removes a little metal, so we check the band's thickness first

How it works

From drop-off to pickup

  1. 1

    Look it over

We check the band's thickness and finish before we refinish anything.

  2. 2

    Refinish

Scratches are polished out, white gold is replated, and brushed or hammered finishes are restored.

  3. 3

    Check

We inspect the band and any stones before it goes home.

Mario has more than 32 years at the bench and works right here in the store. We're one of the few jewelers in Clearwater doing repairs on site, so most work is done right here.

Something else on your mind? Ask us

How often does white gold need replating?

It depends on wear, often every year or two for a ring worn daily.

Does platinum need replating?

No. Platinum is naturally white. It just needs polishing if you prefer a mirror finish.
