Diamond studs
Diamond studs are the piece people wear every day for decades. Two stones matched so closely they look like twins, natural or lab-grown, in four-prong, martini, or bezel settings in platinum or gold.

Choosing studs
Size, setting, and backs
- Quarter to half carat total
- Small and easy to wear every day, or as a second piercing
- One carat total
- The most popular size, and a classic gift
- Two carats total and up
- Noticeable across a room. Choose screw backs at this size
- Settings
- Four-prong shows the most diamond, martini sits closest to the ear, and bezel is the smoothest
A matched pair, checked by a gemologist
Two stones that grade the same can still look different side by side. Our GIA Graduate Gemologist matches pairs by eye as well as on paper.
Pick the diamonds and we'll set them in the style you like. Natural and lab-grown are both available.

What does total carat weight mean for studs?
It's the weight of both diamonds together. A one carat total pair is two stones of about half a carat each.
Which earring backs are most secure?
Screw backs are the most secure and a good choice for larger studs. Friction backs are easiest to put on. La Pousse and other locking backs sit in between. We can change the backs on a pair you already own.
Can you match a single earring I've lost?
Often, yes. Bring the one you have and our gemologist will look for a diamond to match it, or we'll make a pair from scratch.
