Wedding bands

Matching your wedding band

The band that suits your engagement ring depends on its shape and how its center stone sits. Here's where to start for each shape. Then bring your ring in and we'll check the fit.

By shape

A band for every diamond shape

Round
Almost any band. A slim pavé or plain band keeps the focus on the stone
Princess
A straight channel-set or plain band that echoes the square lines
Cushion
A pavé band, or a curved band if it's set in a halo
Emerald
A straight baguette or plain band, for clean architectural lines
Pear
A curved or V-shaped band that follows the point
Oval
A thin pavé band, or a gently curved band that sits under the stone
Radiant
A straight diamond band or an eternity band
Asscher
A baguette or milgrain band for an Art Deco look
Marquise
A V-shaped or curved band that nests against the points
Heart
A curved band, or a slim plain band that lets the shape lead

The fit

Three things to check

The gap
If the center stone sits low, a straight band leaves a gap. A curved band closes it
Width
A band about as wide as your engagement ring's band looks most balanced
Metal
Matching metals wear evenly over the years

FAQ

Questions, answered

Something else on your mind? Ask us

Can you make a band to fit my ring exactly?

Yes. We'll model a band around your engagement ring in CAD and make it in our workshop, usually within two to three weeks of your approval.

Should I solder my rings together?

It keeps them aligned and stops them rubbing. It's done at our bench and can be undone later.
